We are Tinu and Tipsy Scaria, two sisters from India. Over the past four months, we have been working at Domicil in Germany. The journey to get here was challenging, starting with learning the German language. Even though we completed our B2 level, it was still difficult to communicate with the residents due to the language barrier.
Navigating New Beginnings: A Sister's Journey to Domicil in Germany
We learned about Domicil through a friend who connected us with an agent named Christi, who helped us come to Germany. It took us almost two years to improve our German to an acceptable level before we could finally arrive here. Now, we aim to further develop our language skills and pursue careers as competent nursing professionals.
Fortunately, we have a supportive boss who assists us with all the administrative tasks, including paperwork for city registration and opening a bank account. Additionally, we have made many new friends from different countries in our department, who help and support each other, creating a pleasant working environment. Despite the initial challenges, we now feel comfortable and are excited about our future in Germany.
The role of Indian nursing professionals in Germany
Indian professionals in the nursing sector are playing an increasingly important role in Germany and are helping to cover the growing need for nursing care in an aging society. For this reason, the Federal Employment Agency entered into a cooperation agreement with the Indian state of Kerala two years ago. DOMICIL is also actively recruiting nursing professionals in my home country. With a solid education and a committed attitude, they can make a significant impact on healthcare while enjoying a fulfilling and rewarding career.
